Leveling your camper or RV with Camper Level is a simple three step process:
1) input your vehicle’s measurements; 2) place your smart-device on a horizontal surface in your vehicle in the same orientation as the image in the display; 3) use the values displayed by Camper Level to place leveling blocks or adjust your camper-supports. Enter Vehicle Measurements Camper Level uses the specifications of your vehicle to calculate the adjustments necessary to make it level. For any 4-wheeled vehicle, enter the wheelbase (the distance from center of the front wheels to the center of rear wheels) and the track-width (the distance between the left and right wheels). You may be able to find these measurements in your user manual, but they can be easily measured using a tape-measure. Once you have entered these measurements, Camper Level will save them for next use. If you are leveling a vehicle or camper (or anything else!) with 4 built-in leveling supports (such as trailer or camper jacks), then enter the distance between the supports. For Wheelbase enter the distance between the front and rear supports and for Track-width enter the distance between the left and right supports. Start Camper Level Place your smart-device (phone, tablet, etc…) on a horizontal surface in your vehicle. This can be a table, counter-top, floor, or any other surface that should be level. If the Camper Level adjustment numbers are not changing, then make certain the Leveling switch reads “Leveling On.” Orient your device so that the RV image in the application is in the same orientation as your vehicle (front of RV image pointing to front of your vehicle). Camper Level will display the amount you need to RAISE each wheel or support. The adjustment units that are displayed are the same units as you entered for your wheelbase and track-width. So, if you used inches for your wheelbase, the adjustments will readout in inches. You can freeze the displayed adjustment values by simply toggling the Leveling switch to read Level Off. Level Your Camper Now, you can use the values displayed in Camper Level to determine the number of leveling blocks needed for each wheel. Leveling blocks come in various heights, so you will need to divide the adjustment value by your blocks’ thickness to calculate how many blocks needed. There will always be a zero-adjustment value at the highest corner of your vehicle. If you are using supports or jacks, you can simply raise the supports by amount indicated by Camper Level. After you have placed the blocks or adjusted the supports, you can check the result using Camper Level. Due to the various differences in suspension type, stiffness, and geometry, the adjustment amounts may need to be fine-tuned for your vehicle. |
